from Algorythme + Remission - sunset//sunrise, released October 19, 2013
Back then I was waking up, at the crack of dawn.
I wiped the crap out of my eyes, as I started to yawn.
It's 6:30 Friday morning, should I go to class.
I contemplate, wake and bake, I take another puff of grass.
Cause I needed a little motivation, for my education.
All beautiful girls, were trying to break my concentration.
I tried so hard, to pay them no attention.
But its impossible, when you're swimming in a sea of women.
College days at Dawson, Born and raised in 7 island.
Twelve hour car drives for our summer vacation.
Moved down to the country, for the last four years of high school.
Crossed the bridge into city, I was just a young fool.
We all thought we were so cool, and invincible.
Breaking the rules, and acting irresponsible.
Drunk on gin and water, coffee and baileys.
Smoking pre-rolled joints, and pissing in the alley.

Plastic bottle flask. drinking on the terrasse.
Fill-up my glass, puking on the bus, with class.
We can all look back, and smile and laugh.
At the mistakes that we've made, in the past.
It’s just sand, moving through the hourglass.
And we've all grown up, too damn fast.
In such little time, I remember when I wrote my first rhyme.
When I use to hate drinking wine, when my body was in its prime.
When I was searching for myself, and I just couldn't find.
When I had a windowless room, with no sunshine.
Friends of mine moved overseas, to a new country.
Some got married started a family and had a few babies.
As for me, I was busy, sitting at the library.
Studying the theories, trying to get my degree.
Finally, I got my Ba in sociology,
A bedroom emcee, with the pen tip philosophy.
So many pages written, so many pages read.
Rapping and reciting, on the edge of my bed.
I remember, for hours on end, I would scream on the top of my lungs.
I was learning the art, just a student of the drums.
But that was then and this is now, times have changed.
Yet I feel so nostalgic, and kind of strange.
All these moments, are different, yet exactly the same.
Reminisce, remember, rearrange the old school days.

about

l'Algorythme Montreal, Québec

After 8 years L'Algorythme is still here...
Producing a nice collection of sampling-heavy frankenstein- hip-hop mutant-disco beats.
l'Algorythme is like Johnny 5 ( of the movie Short Circuit 2) when he rebuilds himself as a crazy ass punk robot after being attacked by 2 motherfuckers.
